In this video, let's see what is calories? A calorie is a unit of energy. In nutrition, calories refer to the energy people get from the food and drink they consume and the energy they use in physical activity. Calories are essential for human health. The key is consuming the right amount. Everyone requires different amounts of energy each day, depending on age, sex, size, and activity level. Foods high in energy but low in nutritional value provide empty calories.
Not everybody needs the same number of calories each day. People have different metabolisms that burn energy at different rates; some have more active lifestyles than others. The human body needs calories to survive. There are calories in each of the three main macronutrients that we eat – carbohydrates, fats and proteins. If people consume the right quantity of the calories needed every day, they would probably have healthy lives. Calorie consumption that is too low or too high will eventually lead to health problems.
Calories are not only linked to weight gain and obesity, but they are vital for health. They only pose a health risk when people consume more than the recommended level. To lose weight in a healthy way, you need to use more energy than you consume by eating a healthy, balanced diet with fewer calories while increasing your physical activity. Nutritional deficiency occurs when the body is not getting enough nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. When thinking about calories, you should not be considering just your diet but also your level of physical activity. A high intake of calories can be countered with regular, high-intensity exercise.
The average requirement of calories for ladies is about the age of 26-50 requires counts of 2000 kilocalories and some of them are active depending on their walking speed, which is about 5km/day; they need 2200kcal/day and women over 50 years they need 1800 is more than enough. For males, the average calorie requirement at the age of 26-50 is 2600 kilo calories and some of them are active depending upon 2800-3000 kilo calories and men who are above 50 require 2200 or below calories.
