Losing Weight After 40 I Get It Weightlossjourney Weightlossandwellness
Over the holidays I gained weight. I decided to commit to 30 days of healthy habits to get back on track.
Protein PB&J Roll Ups
- 40g Kodiak pancake mix
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 50g egg whites
- 50g cashew milk
- sprinkle of cinnamon
*mix until all ingredients are combined.
* pour mixture in to a pan with some oil/ spray on medium high heat.Then move the mixture around to cover the bottom of the entire pan.
* let cook on each side for around 3-4 minutes
* Spread peanut butter and jam on top then roll up.
Cajun Chicken Orzo
- 1/2 cup red onion
- 1/2 cup green pepper
- 1 heap tbs cajun seasoning
- 1/4 cup sun dried tomato
- 1 heap tbs tomato paste
- 1/2 cup orzo
- 1 cup hot chicken broth
* Sautee red onion and green pepper in a pot until a little soft then add your cajun seasoning a mix well
* Add chicken, sundried tomato, tomato paste and orzo to the pot and mix until everything looks evenly coated
* Pour in hot chicken broth, mix together and then cover and let simmer and cook for around 15 minutes or more
* Once cooked add in a slurry of 2tbs cashew milk & 1 tbs corn starch that's well combined into your pot. this will give it a thick creamy texture.

High protein consumes more energy
Meats and Legumes particularly are the best examples of foods which can be taken in with high protein. High protein foods require more energy from the body to process, thus the fat burning properties. The protein is good for muscle building, which in turn helps to increase metabolism and adding satisfying bulk to meals.
By creating heat and speed up the metabolism
When your body temperature is increased, your metabolism too will speed up to, helping your body to burn calories. It then makes sense that food which will raise the body temperature more then other foods will have improved fat burning properties.

Chemical properties
Some foods contain chemicals that are conducive to weight loss in variety of ways including vitamin C from citrus fruit and capsaicin in chilies.
Reducing calorie intake by digestion
Some foods reduce the amount of calories that you absorb from food with their fibre content. Fibre is excellent for digestion and moves food faster through a digestive tract meaning fewer calories are absorbed.
Losing weight is easier when we incorporate fat burning foods into our diet. Fat burning foods work in a variety of ways. Some work because the combination of their components increases our metabolic rate. Some work due to being low in calories and because they require more energy to digest. Others work because they are low in calories and even when ingesting a small quantity of the particular food we feel full. The cooking method selected can also result in a lower calorie count, which ultimately equates to increased fat loss.
Additional ways that high fibre foods help us with the weight loss is by helping us to feel satisfied and fuller for longer.
It is important to drink plenty of water when you increase your fibre content, or it can actually build up in your intestine leading to constipation.
Regularly eating fat burning foods with the above qualities will, over time, result in effortless fat loss. Add exercise into the mix, and fat loss will occur at an even faster rate.
