MC shares that these drugs not only help with weight loss, but we are learning they are helpful in other chronic conditions: Substance use disorders Suicidal ideation and schizophrenia Alzheimer's disease and dementia Clotting disorders and infections Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and liver diseases Chronic obstructive sleep apnea Clearly, these medications are working on a brain-gut association that appears to help in ways that can help reduce individuals from progressing and deteriorating? The question is, why are the drug companies making access to these drugs a challenge by charging such high prices? Plus, physicians and patients are becoming creative with "off-label" use by microdosing. MC shares that she didn't follow the typical aggressive dosing that the research studies did; she stayed on a low dose until she was no longer losing weight on the current dose.
