Ich hatte euch am Freitag bereits informiert. Wenn alles glatt läuft, will Pharmariese Eli Lilly bis Ende 2025 die Zulassung der Abnehm-Pille Orforglipron beantragen. Den Antrag zur Behandlung von Typ-2-Diabetes plant das Unternehmen für 2026. Dann könnte die Abnehmtablette 2026 auf den Markt kommen.
Laut Eli Lilly sei Orforglipron das erste niedermolekulare GLP-1, das eine Phase-3-Studie erfolgreich abgeschlossen hat. Die Abnehmpille erzielte bei der höchsten Dosis eine Gewichtsabnahme im Durchschnitt um 7,9 % in 40 Wochen, ein Plateau wäre noch nicht erreicht. D.h. dass das volle Potenzial zur Gewichtsabnahme noch nicht erreicht war. Die 7,9% Gewichtsabnahme ist vergleichbar wie Semaglutid, Handelsname Ozempic in 1mg als Injektion. Außerdem konnte Orforglipron den HbA1c-Wert um durchschnittlich 1,3 bis 1,6 Prozent senken. Die Verträglichkeit wäre wie Tirzepatid als Injektion. Die Orforglipron Tablette würde man einmal täglich nehmen. Zum Preis ist noch nichts bekannt. Aber wegen der Tatsache, dass Orfoglipron ein kleines, also ein niedermolekulares GLP-1 Molekül ist, könnten die Produktionskosten niedriger ausfallen als die Spritzen. Ob aber Eli Lilly wirklich dann die Spritze zu einem günstigeren Preis anbieten wird, wird sich noch zeigen. Lilly habe bereits mit der Vorratsbildung begonnen. Jetzt heißt es erstmal auf laufende Studienergebnisse warten, ob das Medikament auch sicher ist.
Kleine Erinnerung: Pfizer musste die Forschung seines Kandidaten Danuglipron als einmal tägliche Abnehmtablette wegen Leberschäden bei einem Patienten abbrechen.
