Is there at risk of weight regain after using GLP-1 meds? The answer is yes. There are several points to remember. Overweight is a medical disorder. When GLP-1 meds are prescribed without lifestyle changes being addressed, patients are destined to continue to yo-yo weight cycle. There is no cure for obesity and overweight. There is treatment and long term management. To date, no pill, shot, or surgery will cure the disease. Focus on Nutrition change, Exercise, Metabolic adjustment, Hormone optimization, and Psychologic strengthening. GLP-1 meds are great tools for the metabolic component of weight reduction and maintenance.
