Just enter in your vital statistics (age, height, weight, sex, and activity level) and the calculator returns the number of calories that your body needs each day to maintain your current weight. In this respect, my calculator is like many other BMR calculators (Basal Metabolic Rate calculators) that you can find anywhere.
BMR calculators tell you how many calories your body needs daily to maintain your current weight. Another way to look at it is this: BMR calcs tell you how many calories your body burns each day when completely at rest (no exercise, just breathing, thinking, digesting food, etc.).
But unlike other BMR calculators, my calculator gives you additional information that's very helpful to dieters.
For example, my DAILY CALORIE ALLOWANCE CALCULATOR returns your daily calorie allowance. This is the number of calories that your body burns up when you are completely at rest. That's an important number!
*** Eat MORE calories than your daily calorie allowance and you'll GAIN weight. Eat fewer calories than your daily calorie allowance and you'll LOSE weight. HOW EASY IS THAT!?
But my calculator also tells you how fast you can lose weight through a 500 or a 1000 CALORIE DEFICIT alone (no exercise at all). That would be handy to know if you don't like to exercise or if you don't have time to exercise.
And it also tells you how fast you can lose weight through EXERCISE alone at your typical activity level (no dieting at all). Would that be helpful for you to know? I think so.
