Can CBD make you hungry? In today's video, Dale answers this question and more. Original blog: https://www.newphaseblends.com/does-cbd-make-you-hungry/ New Phase Blends CBD Store: https://www.newphaseblends.com Many people mistakenly think that since THC makes you hungry, CBD will make you hungry, too. This is not even remotely true. TLDR: CBD cannot, and will not, make you hungry or give you the munchies. Many people mistake this with THC, even though CBD and THC are different. Using CBD products, like CBD oil, will not make you hungry – directly. Sure, if the CBD helps cure your nausea, it will allow you to eat more, but it can’t cause you to just become hungry and have the munchies. Before we discuss why, exactly, CBD can’t make you hungry, let’s briefly talk about what CBD is. Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the many cannabinoids that is naturally found in cannabis plants. Remember, both hemp and marijuana fall under the cannabis plant species. CBD is one of the more prominent cannabinoids, constituting up to 40% of the plant’s extract (depending on the strain). This is where CBD takes a departure from Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, which is the compound that causes psychoactive traits. Not admitting to anything, but smoking marijuana is associated with giving people the munchies. Weed or marijuana (THC) based products are known to interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system that controls our appetite. We’ll get more into the endocannabinoid system later on, because it’s an important system in our bodies that can interact with cannabinoids, like THC and CBD. Science states that THC is believed to increase a hormone that makes you feel hungry, even when you are not. This raises the question, does CBD make you hungry? Well, the answer is surprisingly no, and its’ a little complicated. CBD does not directly make you hungry, but it can increase your appetite a little. Forbes magazine published an article noting that CBD oil can improve your appetite by decreasing things, like nausea, that could otherwise alter a healthy appetite. CBD is noted for its improved health benefits. For example, CBD has many medical benefits. It lessens nausea symptoms, helps reduce anxiety, and improves your digestive system. Think about it. Do you feel like eating when you are experiencing any of these symptoms? No, therefore, after taking CBD products, like CBD oil, it might help your appetite to return. But does this prove that CBD makes you hungry? Not really. Children and adults who require medication for certain illnesses (cancer, depression, epilepsy, etc….), or individuals who must undergo chemotherapy are prescribed CBD oil with a good amount of THC in them – approved by the Food and Drug Administration. These illnesses can make you lose weight. In many of these illnesses, appetites become waned, and people begin to lose weight, quickly. When prescribed higher doses of THC in CBD oil, it has been proven to increase appetites, to encourage weight gain to counter balance the weight loss. The National Institute of Health study on hunger differences between CBD and THC has found that THC raised insulin levels, like ghrelin, that increases your appetite, thus making you feel hungry. In other words, increased hunger is one of the more common expressed side effects of THC. Additional studies did not find the same reaction when individuals use CBD oil. This implies that CBD does not make you hungry. Don’t be concerned that using CBD could make you unreasonably hungry and gain weight. Take comfort in knowing that clinical trials involving many CBD users revealed that you can successfully enjoy using this cannabinoid without the need to suddenly buy larger sized clothing or experiencing the urge to go to the fridge late at night. Interesting fact: CBD is completely non-intoxicating, unlike THC. It cannot make you high, as long as it comes from the hemp plant. Remember the endocannabinoid system mention from earlier? Well, let’s move on to that topic now. The endocannabinoid system is a recently discovered system that all mammals have. The cool thing about it is, it processes cannabinoids (like CBD) in order to achieve certain health benefits for the body. Natural cannabinoid CB1 and CB2 receptors in the body are vital in helping the human body function properly. They regulate brain activities like pain, sleep, emotions, appetite and more. These receptors are part of the endocannabinoid system Endocannabinoid System Receptors CB1 and CB2 receptors are vital in how the brain emits hormones that affect the body’s immune system to combat illnesses. Using CBD are just one of the many ways that helps the whole body whether medically prescribed or used over the counter. The CB1 receptors are a part of the nervous system. Read more in the blog...

Overcoming Arthritis: How Black Women Can Find Relief with CBD Florida has this very archaic medical marijuana policy. One of the peculiar parts of the law is that patients have to see their doctor for a maximum of 210 days in order to refill their orders. Prior to the COVID outbreak every visit had to be in person, but now fortunately and unfortunately these visits can be done virtually. I say fortunately because the televisits are very convenient for both me and my patients. I say unfortunately because we no longer get to see each other in person, and that was one of my favorite parts of what I do…seeing people progress. Every 210 days I’d see these people come in, moving better than they were before, looking happier- even dressed nicer! That's because arthritis isn't just about joint pain; it's a chronic condition that can significantly affect your daily life. In this post, we're going to walk through what arthritis is, how it presents, traditional and holistic treatments, and especially the promising potential of cannabis and CBD. Let's go for a stroll 🙂 What exactly is Arthritis? Arthritisis an inflammation of the joints, leading to pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced range of motion. Over 100 types of arthritis exist, but the most common types are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Osteoarthritis typically results from wear-and-tear on joints, while rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease, causing your body's immune system to attack your joints mistakenly. Pearls: Arthritis affects nearly 1 in 4 adults in the U.S., making it a widespread concern. Did you know? Women are nearly three times more likely to suffer from rheumatoid arthritis compared to men. Signs, Symptoms, and Diagnosis Arthritis can start subtly with mild discomfort and progress to severe, chronic pain. Common symptoms include: Joint pain and stiffness Swelling around joints Decreased range of motion Warmth and redness around affected joints Diagnosing arthritis involves physical examinations, reviewing medical histories, blood tests, and imaging studies like X-rays or MRIs (Arthritis Foundation). Pearls: Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent or reduce permanent joint damage significantly. Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms often start between ages 30 and 50, highlighting the importance of early awareness and action. Demographic Considerations Black women, particularly those between ages 30-65, experience arthritis differently. Studies show Black women face increased severity of symptoms and are often diagnosed later, leading to poorer health outcomes. Factors like socioeconomic status, reduced healthcare access, and systemic biases can contribute to these disparities. Pearls: Black women are more likely to experience severe joint damage and disability from arthritis due to delayed diagnoses. Economic barriers and reduced healthcare access mean preventative and early-stage treatments can be harder to come by. Traditional Arthritis Treatments: Pros and Cons Traditional treatments usually involve medications like NSAIDs, corticosteroids, or DMARDs (Disease-modifying antirheumatic drug). Physical therapy and, in severe cases, surgery might be recommended. Pros: Quick relief from symptoms Widely available treatments Covered by insurance Cons: Possible severe side effects (e.g., stomach ulcers, kidney damage) Limited long-term effectiveness without lifestyle changes Potential dependency on medication Pearls: NSAIDs can increase the risk of cardiovascular issues and gastrointestinal bleeding if used long-term (FDA Warning). Regular exercise is essential, as inactivity can accelerate arthritis symptoms, even though it might initially feel counterintuitive. Holistic Treatment Options: Pros and Cons Holistic approaches include diet changes, exercise, acupuncture, and herbal supplements. Pros: Minimal side effects Encourages overall healthier lifestyle Addresses root causes, not just symptoms Cons: May take longer to see significant improvements Not always covered by insurance Quality and effectiveness of herbal supplements can vary Pearls: An anti-inflammatory diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and omega-3 fatty acids can significantly reduce inflammation (Harvard Health). Acupuncture has shown effectiveness comparable to NSAIDs in reducing pain from arthritis. Cannabis and CBD for Arthritis Relief Cannabis and CBD have gained significant attention for their anti-inflammatory and pain-relief properties. CBD, specifically, has shown potential in reducing inflammation and painassociated with arthritis (Arthritis Foundation CBD Guidelines). FIND OUR PRODUCTS HERE: https://drdamas.com/shop/

Have you been curious about what differentiates CBD oils from THC and marijuana? Learn the key elements that separate CBD from its other cannabis counterparts and more at Green Garden Gold and get your CBD products online today. The first and most important difference to note is that THC is psychoactive while pure CBD oil products are not. THC binds to the CB1 receptors within our endocannabinoid system, changing how brain cells function, which is what attributes towards the psychoactive “high” feeling associated with THC. CBD doesn’t bind to CB1 or CB2 receptors, but instead works as an antagonist against compounds like THC which do. By influencing the receptors without binding to them, CBD is able to help regulate the functions of all receptors to provide a wide variety of health benefits. Learn more about CBD oils and how they can help you to live a happier, healthier life at Green Garden Gold. **effects claimed in this video have not been evaluated by the FDA. They represent the consensus that has been mostly accepted by the CBD industry and their consumers, not any official or governmental authority. This consensus has been cultivated through user experiences, research and case studies, and product research and development. For more information: https://greengardengold.com

When experiencing nausea, whether it be due to motion sickness, chemotherapy, pregnancy, or another cause, finding relief is essential for improving overall well-being. Antiemetics are a class of medications specifically designed to alleviate nausea and vomiting, allowing individuals to feel more comfortable and function normally. Understanding how antiemetics work, their role in controlling nausea, and their effectiveness is crucial for those seeking relief from these distressing symptoms.
How Do Antiemetics Work?
Antiemetics work by targeting various receptors in the body that trigger the sensation of nausea and vomiting. These receptors may be located in the brain, the gastrointestinal tract, or the inner ear, depending on the underlying cause of the nausea. By blocking these receptors or altering the signals they send, antiemetics can help prevent or reduce feelings of nausea and the urge to vomit.
One common type of antiemetic is known as a serotonin antagonist, which works by blocking serotonin receptors in the brain and gastrointestinal tract. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that plays a key role in regulating mood, behavior, and, importantly, nausea. By blocking serotonin receptors, these medications can help reduce feelings of nausea and prevent vomiting.

Another type of antiemetic targets dopamine receptors in the brain. Dopamine is another neurotransmitter that plays a role in regulating nausea and vomiting. By blocking dopamine receptors, these medications can help alleviate nausea and prevent the urge to vomit. This type of antiemetic is often used to manage nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy or certain medical conditions.
Types of Antiemetics
There are several different types of antiemetics available, each of which targets specific receptors or mechanisms involved in nausea. Serotonin antagonists, such as ondansetron and granisetron, are commonly used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy and surgery. Dopamine antagonists, such as metoclopramide and prochlorperazine, are often used to manage nausea and vomiting caused by medications or medical conditions.
Antihistamines, such as dimenhydrinate and meclizine, are commonly used to prevent and treat motion sickness. These medications work by blocking histamine receptors in the inner ear and brain, helping to reduce feelings of nausea and vertigo associated with motion sickness. Anticholinergic medications, such as scopolamine, are also effective in preventing motion sickness by blocking the action of acetylcholine, another neurotransmitter involved in nausea.
Effectiveness of Antiemetics
Overall, antiemetics are highly effective in controlling nausea and preventing vomiting in a wide range of situations. Studies have shown that these medications can significantly reduce the frequency and severity of nausea and vomiting, improving quality of life for individuals experiencing these symptoms. The effectiveness of antiemetics may vary depending on the underlying cause of the nausea, the specific medication used, and individual factors such as age, weight, and overall health.
It is important to work closely with a healthcare provider to determine the most appropriate antiemetic for your specific situation. Your doctor can help you identify the underlying cause of your nausea, prescribe the most effective medication, and adjust the dosage as needed to achieve optimal relief. In some cases, a combination of different types of antiemetics may be necessary to effectively control nausea and vomiting.
