In this edition of The Schumin Web Video Journal, I discuss my birthday, swimming, and losing weight.
On my birthday: Today is my 30th birthday! I went out with my friend Isis and her boyfriend, and we went to this place in Rockville called The Vegetable Garden, which is an Asian restaurant that is 100% vegan. And it was really good, too! I had the Curry Supreme.
On swimming: I continue my adventures at Olney Swim Center, where I'm still swimming laps, and coming up with a good workout. My most recent trip involved splitting an hour's swim into ten-minute blocks. I did ten minutes of kickboard work doing a flutter kick, ten minutes of kickboard work doing breaststroke kick, then put the kickboard aside and did ten minutes of backstroke, ten minutes of front crawl (aka "freestyle"), and then ten minutes of breaststroke. Then I did ten minutes back on the kickboard to cool down. I also discuss my different goggles, since my original set of goggles was woefully inadequate, since I bought them for protests, and they'd been sitting in the bottom of my protest bag for a long time.
On losing weight: How do I look? If you compare to other Video Journal entries, I think that my face looks noticeably slimmer. My pants fit differently, too. And I can't sit in the same place for long because of there being less padding in places than there used to be - no bull.
