This 20 minute fat burning workout for total beginners is a HIIT for seniors that includes exercises to lower blood sugar. This beginner HIIT workout consists of two sets of five exercises each done twice. With this low impact cardio workout, each exercise is done for 30 seconds followed by 30 seconds of rest. The goal is to do each 30 second exercise at a pace that is challenging for you. Feeling a little out of breath after a round is a sign that you challenged yourself.
HIIT (high intensity interval training) includes alternating periods of high and low periods of exercise. The higher intensity activities can range from 30 seconds to two minutes and followed by short periods of active rest that lower your heart rate.
