✨ Open This ✨ If you’ve been eating a high protein diet but not seeing the changes you desire here are some likely reasons why. 💕 Follow me @the.busy.mom.method for daily tips and tricks. 1️⃣ You are eating protein sources that are high in fat such as hot dogs, sausage, bacon, rib eye, full fat diary products, etc. Sometimes these foods have a higher fat to protein ratio than you expect. 2️⃣ You are only consuming plant protein. I know some vegetarians and vegans may not like this, but plant protein is not the “best” type of protein and a lot of plant based protein sources lack certain amino acids which make it more difficult (not impossible) to make muscle gains. You’ll want to make sure you are consuming a variety of plant protein to get a full amino acid profile. 3️⃣ You are barely eating protein at breakfast or you are skipping it all together and trying to cram all your protein in at lunch and dinner. I dont know who needs to hear this but 2 eggs is not enough. Your body needs at least 30 grams of protein at every meal to activate protein synthesis. 👉🏻 We begin to lose muscle ever year starting around age 30, so if you are not eating enough protein and strength training then this is likely your culprit of lack of results. 4️⃣ You’re not actually eating high protein. Ouch.
