Siim (hereinafter SL), acknowledges the Sugar Fasting Diet works specifically explaining Protein Restriction Diet protocol science. He questions other diet parts suggesting there are better ways to accomplish. SL suggested a new Sugar Fasting Diet Protocol called the Protein Restriction Mimicking Diet. This diet mimics the protein restriction diet allowing you to achieve massive weight loss including significant fat loss like people are experiencing with the sugar fasting diet. SL suggests to eat plant proteins and supplement with a high dose of Glycine. Glycine masks the methionine and sulfur to making the body believe there is amino acid starvation hence achieving the effects of protein restriction and FGF21. Low methionine and low sulfur can both cause the body to stimulate a starvation response, aka the Protein Restriction Fasting Diet.
Plant protein is used to mimic a low calorie and or amino acid starvation that will mimic protein restriction diet when you add high doses of glycine. Plant proteins are not as bioavailable as animal proteins. This is especially true when you have insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, diabetes and GI issues. The more obese you are the less absorption you will get with plant proteins. In addition, the older you are the less the body will absorb. So older mid aged overweight individuals should do very well on this diet proposed by SL. Some studies show that plant protein absorption can be as low as 25% of the same volume of animal protein.
I do believe this alternative diet should be cycled. I think when all the science is done, the protein restriction diet protocol is going to get the best weight loss results faster.
SL uses this diet strategy in his personal life to achieve maximum weight loss and maximum fat loss to become shredded and having increased muscle mass. He also uses this diet as an anti-aging diet strategy to look younger, have increased energy and achieve better labs including better blood glucose control and fewer glucose spikes.
The video also provides an overview of the Valter Longo Fasting Mimicking Diet called Prolon. It is a 5 day fasting mimicking diet protocol used by health facilities all over the world. It is used by weight loss clinics, medical Doctor offices, hospitals, and other Diet and Weight loss coaches. The Fasting Mimicking diet is used to treat Cancer, Autoimmune diseases, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease, Hypertension, Obesity, Insulin Resistance, Wound Care and much more.

The sugar diet has studies showing that lean mass persons can get a much better and or different response than overweight, obese, insulin resistant and or diabetics. One study explained that lean people don’t have raised levels of FGF21 until they engage in protocols like high sugar and high fructose and or protein restriction. Whereas, their body has a higher response. Overweight, obese, insulin resistant and diabetics already have raised FGF21 levels which scientists are terming FGF21 resistance. So, full protein restriction is probably going to work better for these individuals with cycling Protein Mimicking Restriction and or Protein Sparing Modified Fasting Diet.
The protocol for Protein Sparing Modified Fasting diet is a low calorie meal limiting Fat and carbohydrates. It is an extreme form of a Carnivore Diet. The PSMF diet achieves more weight loss and fat loss than intermittent fasting, ketogenic diet, vegan diet, Mediterranean diet and paleo diet for most people. Some Body builders use this diet to get shredded. This low calorie PSMF diet mimics starvation.
The video discusses other things you can do to increase weight loss success including taking High Dose Vitamin D3, getting restorative sleep, walking 10,000 steps per day to burn belly fat, lose weight and decrease body fat.
The video provides a list of healthy foods you can incorporate into a healthy diet and healthy lifestyle to maintain weight loss and prevent fat gain. Foods include cucumbers, kale, salads, carrots, zucchini, broccoli, celery, legumes, walnuts, bell peppers.
